Release the base of the knob by locating the plastic clips under the knob cover, near the gear lever. Use a flat screwdriver to gently lift the clips and unlock the knob. If the knob is secured with a tight plastic ring, cut it off with a utility knife. Grip the knob firmly and pull it upwards. Insert the new knob by pushing it down until it clicks into place. If it includes a plastic ring, tighten it well, then reposition the base cover and ensure the clips are properly engaged.
