How to drain water from the fuel filter

To avoid damage to the engine's fuel system, it is good practice to drain the filter that retains any water present in the fuel supplying our van's engine. The separator is usually located behind the cab, on the driver's side, at the bottom. Once located, insert one end of a hose into the drain plug and the other end into a collection container. Open the plug by unscrewing it and let all the water drain out, then close the plug securely. If the separator light comes on after performing this operation, you will need to drain the diesel filter using the same procedure.
