Replacing the air filter on a Ducati 999 or 749 is extremely simple, and now we will show you how. Yes, because to open the filter box, all you need to do is unscrew the three bolts that secure it (note that two are longer and one is shorter, so remember their positions) and remove the filter itself, then insert the new one and you're done. It is recommended to apply some grease between the filter box and the intake duct to ensure a good seal. Refit the three bolts in the same position you found them and tighten them by hand (not too tight) to avoid damaging the plastic.
