How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Fiat Punto

How do you replace the timing belt on a petrol Fiat Punto? Lift the car on a column lift or jack (if necessary, remove the front wheel using a screwdriver to detach the right wheel arch liner). Once these operations are complete: lift the bonnet, remove the engine soundproofing panel and the timing belt cover. Using a suitable spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. After fitting the new belt, use the spanner to tension the tensioner pulley, tightening until the correct tension of the belt (previously fitted) is achieved. Finally, check the tensioner and the belt itself, and tighten everything with a socket wrench.
