What Does Code B01 29 Indicate on a 2014 Fiat 500?

When the airbag light activates on a Fiat 500, it indicates a malfunction in the safety system. In these cases, it is necessary to connect a diagnostic computer to the vehicle's OBD port to perform a scan to understand which error has caused the airbag malfunction. If the diagnostic computer displays code B01 29, it means that the airbag located under the driver's seat has a fault and must be replaced. Remove the plastic cover by unscrewing the central nut to access the underside of the seat. You will immediately notice, as shown in the video example, that the connector related to the airbag operation is broken; this may be caused by the movements of the seat. Replace the cable by inserting a new one and connecting it to the connector mechanism, taking care not to activate the airbag during the operation. It is essential that the vehicle's battery is disconnected throughout the procedure. After replacing the connector, reattach the plastic cover and reconnect the vehicle's battery to check that the diagnostic computer does not signal any further errors.
