How to remove the gear knob if damaged? Here’s how to replace the knob on a Fiat Grande Punto. Grip the knob and pull it off decisively until it comes off the gear lever (pull upwards with force). Use a plastic lever to detach the leather gaiter frame and replace it if damaged. Take the new knob and slide it onto the lever in the centre console; press firmly until it locks in place. Finally, test the knob's movement on the centre console to see if it moves. Position the knob with the gear numbering horizontally.
