Do you do the servicing yourself and don't know how to turn off the service light? Here’s how! Get in the car and turn on the ignition by inserting the key and turning it. Now, press the accelerator pedal and hold it down: while doing this, press the brake pedal all the way down seven times.

Wait at least another thirty seconds (the longer, the better) with the accelerator fully pressed.

Release the pedal and wait another thirty to sixty seconds. Now you can turn the ignition back on and notice that the service light will flash five times and then stay on. At this point, start the car and it will disappear.

How to open the bonnet on a Volkswagen Golf?
