Fiat Punto - Video tutorial

Model: Fiat Punto 176, MK 1 - Years 1993-1999
Part: Arm
Operation: Steering box boot replacement

To replace the steering box boot, the steering box head must first be removed. It is an extremely simple operation: unscrew the nut fixing the spherical hinge of the head to the hub and extract it from the hub itself (it may be necessary to use a fork extractor or give a few blows with a hammer without removing the nut); loosen the lock nut that blocks the head on the tie rod and unscrew the head by counting the number of turns; then remove the fixing clamps of the cap and extract it; evaluate if necessary, apply some grease and insert the new cap, locking it with the relative clamps; then screw the lock nut on the tie rod and the head by the same number of turns and then lock it also on the hub side; at the end of the operation it may be necessary to perform a convergence to center the steering wheel.
