How to Replace Engine Oil and Oil Filter on a Fiat 500

The video shows how to change the oil and the corresponding filter on a 2015 Fiat 500. First, to work comfortably, lift the car off the ground, ensuring it remains stable by placing two axle stands on either side; do not rely solely on the jack. To proceed, you need to remove the engine cover at the bottom of the car by unscrewing the appropriate bolts with a 10mm spanner; there should be about six. Next, drain the oil by positioning a bucket underneath to catch it. To replace the filter, open the bonnet; the video shows where the oil filter is located. You will need a 27mm socket to unscrew it. Once the worn filter is removed, replace it with the new one, paying particular attention to the integrity of the gasket, which is essential to seal and prevent oil leaks. Now install the new filter in the designated housing and tighten it with the same socket used earlier. Next, the video shows the oil pump filling phase; it is recommended to use API certified 5w30 oil, Kirkland SAE full synthetic. Pour the oil using a funnel in the designated opening; 4 litres should be sufficient for this model. After that, simply close the cap and wait for the oil to settle in the sump. You can check the level with the dipstick; it is important that it never exceeds the maximum level and remains at a medium level. Finally, by turning on the ignition, you can check that the oil warning light has reset.
