Replacing Big End Bearings on Fiat 1400 Engine - 16 Valves

First, remove the engine air filter by unscrewing the three screws that secure it, disconnecting the clamp, and finally removing the duct. Next, remove the cover for the exhaust manifolds (four screws on top and three underneath) and take it out from the bonnet. Unscrew the bolts securing the manifold and remove it, then disconnect the lambda sensor and drain the engine oil. Remove the oil sump by prising it off at the seam. At this point, unscrew the bolts of the big end 'cap' and take it off. Finally, you have access to the bearings: replace them by gently extracting the old ones and inserting the new ones.
