Adjustment of the tappets on vintage Fiat 500 cars

In this video we can see how to adjust the tappets of a vintage Fiat 500. The desired adjustment is 0.15 for the intake valves, which is the second one, and 0.20 for the exhaust valve, which is the first one we see: for the second cylinder, we first see the intake valve and then the exhaust valve.

The adjustment is done with the two screws located in front.

We turn the engine with a 17 key until we bring the second cylinder into phase (closing the exhaust valve and opening the intake valve): this way we can make the adjustment. We will need a feeler gauge with which we will check the play of our tappet, passing the blade with the right thickness under the tappet and then tightening.
