The operation of removing the gear knob is very simple but must be done carefully. Obtain the new knob and proceed with the change.

Applying significant horizontal force, grip the knob firmly with one hand and slowly rotate it counterclockwise. After the initial effort, unscrew the knob completely until it is fully removed.

This operation requires many turns. When you reach the end, take care with the spring located inside the knob itself.

To fit the new knob, proceed in reverse, remembering to tighten it well all the way down.
