The fuel cap on a Fiat 500 can only be opened with the car key. To refuel, pull the lever located near the seat to open the flap, then insert the key into the cap and turn it to the right to open it, allowing you to refuel. Once finished, to secure the cap, simply reinsert the key and turn it to the left.

After closing the flap, your fuel will be safe. This mechanism was designed by Fiat to prevent fuel thieves from easily opening the car's cap.
