This article explains how to correctly open and close the fuel filler cap of the Fiat 500. The procedure takes only a few seconds and requires the car key. First, unlock the car, then open the fuel filler door. At this point, you will have access to the fuel cap. Insert the key, hold the cap steady, and turn the key to unlock it. Once unlocked, turn it half a turn counterclockwise and remove it. To close it correctly, reinsert the cap into its housing, then close the safety lock by turning the key. Finally, remove the key and turn the cap until it is securely closed, which is when it locks in a clockwise direction.
