If the headlights appear cloudy and yellowed, you can make them shine like new again, but this requires a special treatment involving painting with a special paint rather than just a simple polish. Start by sanding the headlight in three stages, beginning with a coarser grit (600), then moving to a finer grit (800) and finally an extra fine grit (1200). At the end of sanding, the headlight will appear uniformly dull.

Mask the surrounding area, clean the headlight with a suitable degreaser and wipe it with a dust cloth. Prepare the paint and apply it evenly with a small spray gun, allowing it to dry completely.
