Watch this video to learn how to fix the reverse gear on the Fiat Scudo that gets stuck; the ring that engages the reverse gear is jammed. Remove the knob by pulling it towards you firmly, then take off the gaiter and the ring: you will see that this moves up and down, causing friction.

The next step is to use sandpaper to smooth the surface where the ring will slide. Test it by reinserting it and you will see it moves much more freely (do not remove the housing, or it will no longer function).

Apply a spray of petroleum jelly, then reassemble the ring, gaiter, and knob, and the problem is solved.
