The following steps will show you how to remove and replace the starter motor on a Fiat Punto with a 1.2 petrol engine. First, open the bonnet of the vehicle and begin by removing the battery to access the starter motor located underneath; to do this, disconnect both battery terminals (positive and negative), then remove the battery tray as shown in the video.

At this point, disconnect the electrical cables from the starter motor and unscrew its fixing bolts to remove it and replace it with the new original one!
