How do you adjust the handbrake of the Ford Transit Connect?

In order to adjust the handbrake of the Ford Transit Connect, you will need to lever with an object to detach the leather cover that wraps around the gear lever: once the back of the cover has been detached, you will be able to locate the bolt that allows you to adjust the intensity of the lever. By tightening the bolt, you can make the lever harder and reduce the travel of the handbrake lever; by loosening the bolt, you can increase the travel of the handbrake and make it softer. Finally, you can reposition the lever cover.
