How to replace the battery of a Ford key yourself.

Model: Ford Kuga C520, MK 2 - Years 2012-2019

For the Ford smart key, the battery replacement is performed on a clean surface. The mechanical blade is removed from the key body using the release button shown, and the shell is opened by prying at the indicated point, preferably using a plastic tool to avoid scratching the casing. Once the two halves are separated, the exhausted battery is removed, taking care to respect the orientation. The new battery is inserted with the correct polarity, the two halves of the shell are closed until fully engaged, and the mechanical blade is reinserted. Finally, a test is performed: opening/closing the doors and, if applicable, keyless ignition.
