Emergency Location and Access to the 12V Battery of the Ford Kuga 2022

The 12V battery of the Ford Kuga (2022) is not located in the engine bay, but in the boot, under the floor. However, if the battery is completely flat, the tailgate will not open electronically. To access the boot, lower the rear seats and, using a screwdriver, remove the plastic cover on the tailgate. Press the emergency release lever to open the tailgate. Lift the boot floor: the 12V battery is visible under the cover. To charge it, use the charging points in the engine bay (positive under a cover, negative to the chassis). If the battery needs replacing, remove the block and install a new battery (AGM or EFB type). The battery is compact, similar to those used in motorcycles.
