On the Sync 3 screen, press "phone", then "add phone" (you can also use voice commands). Switch to your smartphone to begin pairing: your phone will display a code that you need to confirm on the Sync. Press "pair" on your phone and confirm on the Sync. Wait a moment for the pairing successful message.

Now, allow Sync 3 access to your phone contacts, and you're done; everything will be in order after the download.
