To remove the steering wheel airbag on a Honda Civic, first disconnect the car battery and remove the plastic cover located at the bottom of the steering wheel. Under this cover, there will be a connector that needs to be disconnected; next, loosen the two screws located on the sides of the steering wheel so that the airbag can be extracted from its housing. By disconnecting the connectors at the back, the unit can be completely removed and potentially replaced with a new spare part.
