How to Change the Oil and Oil Filter on Honda Accord

Lift the vehicle with a suitable jack and access the area under the engine. Locate the two metal panels secured with screws and remove them to access the engine. At this point, both the oil filter and the drain plug are visible. Before unscrewing the plug and the filter, open the oil filler cap located on top of the engine head. Using a 17 mm socket, proceed to unscrew the oil drain plug, ensuring you have placed a container on the floor to collect the used oil. Next, loosen the oil filter by hand and unscrew it completely along with the drain plug. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out. After that, install the new oil filter by hand and reattach the drain plug. Then, fill with oil suitable for the engine type and check the correct oil level using the dipstick (the level should be between the minimum and maximum). Finally, reattach the two plates under the engine.
