Replacing the Thermostat on a Jeep Patriot

If the engine coolant temperature suddenly rises, the cause may be a stuck thermostat due to rust, preventing water circulation in the engine block. The replacement is straightforward, but it is recommended to perform it when the engine is cold, as you will come into contact with coolant during disassembly. The thermostat is located on the flange next to the engine block, beside the air filter box. After removing the air filter box, disconnect the hoses from the flange and remove it from the engine block to proceed with the thermostat replacement. It is advisable to flush the system and refill it with the appropriate coolant.
