The issue is a Jeep Compass that requires jump-starting every morning; the YouTuber has already changed the main battery but not the auxiliary one. To test the parasitic drain, move away the remote controls, close the doors, and wait 1-2 hours for the car to 'sleep'. With the tester in series, the drain was 1A (too high).

Disconnecting the auxiliary battery brought the drain down to 40 mA (normal).

The auxiliary battery was faulty and draining the main one (as a flat battery - in fact, it was at 8.7V instead of 12.7V - becomes a load itself). The solution was to replace the auxiliary battery, located next to the main one, under the black box. After the replacement, the drain dropped to 40 mA, and now both batteries charge correctly (13.7-13.8V). Therefore, always check the auxiliary battery as well.
