To replace the battery in the key fob of a Jeep Cherokee, use a flathead screwdriver to lift the plastic cover that encases the buttons on the front. Once this cover is removed, you can detach the part with the buttons to access the battery underneath.

The battery can then be extracted from its housing and replaced with a new spare part; after the new battery is installed, you can reattach the buttons and the cover that encases them.
