How to change the key battery of a Jeep Cherokee? Follow these steps. Take your remote and slide the button to release the metal key. Once extracted, use a screwdriver to pry apart the two covers of the key. Once the plastics are separated, remove the worn battery with a screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover with the buttons by pressing on the key remote until you hear the locking click. Finally, insert the metal key back into the remote. Check the proper functioning of the remote.
