Handbrake Adjustment on the Jeep Cherokee

After several years of use, it is normal for the handbrake on the Jeep Cherokee XJ to start losing grip, due to the shoes stretching the cable, which increases the lever travel. The handbrake adjustment is done through the adjuster located under the vehicle's floor, corresponding to the handbrake lever's housing. To perform the adjustment, lift the car and adjust the floor nut. Once adjusted, the handbrake should feel much tighter. It is necessary to adjust the handbrake to avoid issues.
