A Windscreen Wiper Interfering with the Indicators on a Jeep Compass

In this video, you will see a strange problem on this Jeep Compass: almost every time the indicators are activated, the windscreen wipers also turn on. This does not happen every time, which complicates diagnosing the fault. Remove the indicator switch assembly; you will need a 15 mm Torx screwdriver and two Philips screws. You will then discover the wires, but see that the component appears to be covered in something sticky and seems to be made of a material that is decidedly not durable enough to withstand thousands of cycles; however, there is little we can do about this. Clean it thoroughly and refit it, hoping it will work. And indeed, it seems to do so.
