This guide shows how to change the oil and oil filter on Kawasaki ER-5 models. First, place the motorcycle on a stand, preferably a motorcycle stand. After placing a container to catch the used lubricant and removing the oil filter located at the front of the engine between the two exhaust pipes, proceed to open and drain the oil sump. The drain plug is located at the base of the engine near the right exhaust pipe. The oil capacity of the tank is three litres. Clean all oil residue and refit the new filter after lubricating its seal with new oil. The torque for this element is 17 Nm. After refitting the drain plug, replacing the washer that acts as a seal, tighten it to 29 Nm. On the right side of the motorcycle, fill the tank with new engine oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications. Start the engine to circulate the fluid and check the oil level.
