Replacing the Gear Knob on a Kia Sportage

If your gear knob is more than worn, like the one shown in the video, this short tutorial shows you how to replace it. First, extract the gaiter from the base: as you can see, it has side clips that hold it in place. If you find it difficult to do this by hand, use a plastic wedge to assist. Then, unscrew the knob/gaiter lock, knowing that it may take some time to extract it. On other knobs, simply pull hard to remove it from the gaiter without removing the latter. Good luck!
