Part: Timing belt
Operation: How to change the timing belt of the Kia Sportage.

The replacement of the timing belt is necessary when it starts to show anomalies such as strange noises. In the following video tutorial, you will be able to see how the timing belt of a Kia Sportage is removed. We start by opening the front hood in order to remove the side cover of the engine. Once the cover is removed, it will be possible to loosen the belt tensioner roller and then the pulley, thus allowing the belt to be removed. Once removed, you can proceed to insert the new belt by tensioning the pulley and the tensioner.

First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
