In this video, we see how to adjust the handbrake of a 2009 Kia Picanto. First, we need to make sure that the car is properly parked on a flat surface. A properly adjusted handbrake should not have more than three clicks when fully pulled. To access the adjustment screw, we need to remove the base located in the rear cup holder: underneath, we will find the nut that allows us to adjust the tension. We then release the handbrake and, using a 12mm ratchet wrench, tighten it to reduce the amount of travel the lever needs to make. We will need to do some tests to achieve the desired result.
