How to Adjust the Handbrake on a Kia Picanto

In this video, you will learn how to adjust the handbrake on a 2009 Kia Picanto. First, ensure the vehicle is parked correctly on a flat surface. A properly adjusted handbrake should not have more than three clicks when fully pulled. To access the adjustment screw, remove the base located in the rear cup holder: underneath, you will find the nut that allows you to adjust the tension. Release the handbrake, and using a 12 mm ratchet spanner, tighten it to reduce the amount of travel the lever has to make. You may need to make several attempts to achieve the desired result.
