Before you can start, lift the KTM EXC from the bottom of the frame to reduce the load on the shock absorber. Begin by loosening and removing the nut that secures the lower shock absorber pin, then remove the pin itself. Next, repeat this step for the upper pin. Once both pins securing the shock absorber are removed, the shock absorber will be freed. At this point, extract and remove the shock absorber from its housing, and you will have successfully completed the disassembly.
