How to Solve the Problem of Stiff Gear Changes on a Lancia Delta

In this video, you will learn how to solve the problem of the gear lever on a Lancia Delta that has stiff gear changes. The first thing that was done was to check the clutch, but it is fine, so the problem is definitely with the lever. The solution is to grease the spherical joints of the lever linkage. Remove the trim by prying with something plastic under the lever trim and lift it. Apply grease (white or lithium) to all the joints and pivots you see, then try moving the lever in all directions to ensure the grease penetrates well. Then reassemble by clicking the trim back into place. Now the gear changes are much smoother; while not perfect, as the linkages under the car should also be greased, the improvement is significant.
