Lift the car's tailgate and first place a hydraulic jack underneath to support it. This will prevent it from falling when the support pistons are removed. Use a medium-small flat screwdriver to lever inside the upper attachment of the tailgate, as shown in the video.

Once the clip is removed, simply pull out the piston and you're done. Repeat the same operation on the lower clip and the other side of the tailgate.

For fitting the new pistons, simply slot the attachments into the car's mounts by applying pressure with your hands.

How to Activate the Disabled TRC on the Toyota Yaris?

As the video clearly shows, disabling or activating the traction control (TRC or ESP) on the Toyota Yaris is very simple. By default, the traction system activates every time the vehicle is started. To disable it, simply press the button depicting a skidding car located in the centre of the vehicle where the controls are, such as the hazard lights and the radio, but near the handbrake.
