How the Panoramic Roof Works on the Lexus RZ

In this video, we will see a really interesting feature of the panoramic roof on the Lexus RZ, which instead of having a sunshade uses glass with a special electrochromic layer: when a slight electric current is applied, the particles within this layer realign, changing the properties of the glass from transparent to opaque (dark blue), blocking sunlight. As shown in the video, pressing the forward button (marked with an icon) instantly makes the glass opaque, replacing the function of a traditional sunshade. Pressing the rear button returns the glass to being transparent and clear.
