To remove the original car radio, you need to take out some elements of the centre console. First, move the gear lever back to create more working space; unclip the trim around the gear lever (lever it off along the edges using a plastic trim tool) and the panel just below the centre console, where the cigarette lighter socket is located.

Next, unscrew the screws under the edge of the centre console; then pull the car radio outwards to unclip and extract it from its housing, disconnecting the rear connectors.
