How to Turn Off iStop on the Mazda CX-5

On the Mazda CX-5, it is possible to deactivate iStop for the current journey simply by pressing the "iStop OFF" button located to the left of the steering wheel, at the bottom of the dashboard. An orange light appears on the instrument panel confirming the deactivation, but upon the next ignition, the system will be active again.

Some versions of the CX-5 have the option for permanent deactivation in the menu. Enter the infotainment menu and go to: settings/driving assistance/vehicle settings/iStop. From here, it is possible to deselect or turn off iStop permanently, and it will remain off until manually reactivated by the user.

An alternative method is also presented, which involves holding down the "iStop OFF" button for a few seconds: the light will illuminate and the system will remain off until the button is pressed again.
