In order to access the fixing screws of the central console (which includes the air conditioning controls in addition to the car radio), it is first necessary to remove the central tunnel lining: then unscrew the gear lever knob and unhook the plastic covering comprising also the gearshift gaiter; then disassemble the ashtray compartment by disconnecting the relative sockets and unscrew the first two fixing screws of the console which are located just behind the ashtray compartment itself. Another screw is positioned on the side and in order to unscrew it, the plastic coating under the steering column must be removed. Finally pull the console forward.

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat.
