Removing Center Console - Part One

Model: Mercedes Classe C W203 - Years 2000-2007

Detailed instructions - Remove the leather boot of the gear shift: pry under the chrome trim to release it and pull off the shift knob. Open the ashtray lid to detach the cover around the gear shift: unclip it from the front and then pull it forward. At this point, remove the ashtray drawer: press the two plastic tabs on the sides to release them and pull out the ashtray drawer, disconnecting the plugs connected to it. Proceed to remove the food container located just behind the gear shift: unclip the coin holder and remove it; open the food container support and pull out the "rubber mat" at the bottom of the container; gently pull up the food container support to unclip it and remove it with a twisting motion. Now unclip the cigarette lighter support and rotate it inside the container drawer to possibly extract the shutter closure located just above this drawer (the shutter closure slides within two tracks on the sides of the drawer): it is not necessary to remove it, just keep it open until fully extended.
Using a 10mm socket wrench, unscrew the two fastening bolts located just below the cigarette lighter support.
Then lift the armrest to access the glove compartment and remove the mat at the bottom of the container: there are two more 10mm screws at the back that need to be unscrewed.
