First, ensure that the key is not inserted and that the gear is set to "P", then pry off the base of the boot using preferably a plastic spatula to avoid leaving marks. Next, locate the ring at the base of the knob, unscrew it, and remove the knob from the shaft. At this point, simply position the replacement and reassemble everything by following the reverse procedure.
