In this video we see how to change the gear knob of a Mercedes SLK R171: the first thing to do is to remove the base that holds the boot in place: being only snap-in, it is easily removed. Disconnect the lighting cable. Lifting the leather, we see that the knob is held by a kind of ring that can be unscrewed, although it is a bit tough. Once this operation is done, pull strongly upwards and the whole piece comes off, that is, frame, knob and leather. If our car has a manual transmission we recommend code 253474058984 on E-Bay: knob and leather boot at 102.79 euros + 13.90 euros for delivery.
