The repair of the instrument panel is a delicate operation therefore it is advisable to carry out the work under the guidance of a person skilled in electronics and with the necessary equipment. Once the panel has been removed from the vehicle, remove the screws on the bottom to access the instrumentation. Before completely disassembling the electronic circuit, remove the indicator needles from the instruments. All subsequent operations must be carried out on an antistatic mat connected to the relative bracelets in order to eliminate any electrostatic discharges. A possible electrostatic discharge could cause a lot of damage to the electronics. To free the printed circuit, the flat mylar cable must be disconnected from the zif connector. The zif connector has a plastic tab that must be pushed outwards to free the cable. Once the printed circuit has been released, release the plastic springs that hold the faulty display. Replacing the display is an operation that must be carried out with great care as it is necessary to position the conductive rubber and its polyester printed circuit in the right position to ensure perfect alignment of the electrical contacts with the rest of the circuit. Misalignment implies a malfunction of the display. Do not touch the electrical contacts of the display with your hands. Once the repair has been carried out, refit the circuit in the dashboard and check for correct operation.
