How to unlock the gear lever of a Mercedes C220

In this video we can see how to unlock the gear lever of a Mercedes C220: the most common causes for the gear to get stuck are malfunctions of the control unit, defective sensors - such as speed or gear lever position sensors - damaged wiring. But we should not underestimate mechanical problems such as low gearbox oil level, worn torque converter, or damaged solenoid valve. In any case, we find the release button under the gear knob, so we will have to pry under the frame and lift it. Underneath we will find a noticeable yellow button. Just press it to unlock the gear.
