How to disassemble and adjust the panoramic roof of a Mercedes C-Class W205

In this video, we will see how to disassemble and adjust the panoramic roof of a Mercedes C Class W205: it is a complex procedure for which an error can cause expensive damage to the roof, paint, or electronic system, so it is necessary to have manual skills, be assisted by another person, and consider the intervention of a professional. We completely open the panoramic roof and place soft cloths on the upper pillar and on the roof surface to protect it from scratches: the glass is fixed by two screws on each side, hidden inside the mechanism. Let's have an assistant help us hold the glass and slightly loosen all 4 screws; then unscrew them completely and with the help of the assistant, remove the glass panel, storing it in a safe place. For reassembly, we follow the previous method, with the help of the assistant, checking the height alignment between the front glass panel and the car roof: the maximum deviation is 2 mm; we check the lateral alignment between the sliding roof and the rear roof sheet metal: we bring the roof into the raised position, as for ventilation, in order to access the adjustment screw; this way we can align the entire roof with the bodywork. Now we will reinitialize the roof with a tool by selecting the control unit called PTS or "Panoramic Sliding Sunroof"; navigate to "calibration" and start the procedure.
