Let's briefly review the steps to open the hood and access the engine compartment of the Mercedes C-Class. First, open the driver's side front door and pull the plastic lever located at the bottom, near the pedals.

Then, move to the front and release the latch found in the center, between the hood and the front bumper, as shown in the video. At this point, secure the prop rod to hold the hood open (either by hand or using the hydraulic struts); lower and gently push the hood to close it!
