Diagnosis of the failure to start on a Mercedes Citan

We see that the failure to start this Mercedes Citan was caused by a faulty battery: it was the first thing the mechanic tested as it is the most common cause of electrical problems, and indeed the voltage was below 10V, a clear sign that told us the battery was irreparably damaged. Being a vehicle with a Start & Stop system, it was necessary to install an EFB battery and register the new battery on the BMS using a diagnostic scanner. After the replacement, the scanner revealed several stored error codes (mainly related to low voltage) which were cleared. On modern vehicles, a battery in poor condition is the first thing to check for any electrical or starting problem, even if some components still seem to be working.
