How to change a Xenon bulb on a Mercedes SLK R171

In this video we see how to change a bulb from the front headlight of a Mercedes SKL R171: the main recommendation is to never touch the glass bulb with your fingers; in fact, the natural grease from the skin creates hot spots on the bulb that can lead to premature breakage or even explosion. We open the hood and remove the rear cover of the headlight, which is held by lever clips. By removing them we will remove the cover. Disconnect the connector, and inside we will find the main connector, which is connected to the xenon unit, where we will find a "u" shaped spring that holds the bulb in place. Unlocking it does not remove it, but only opens it. Remove the worn bulb, replace it with the new one (using gloves) and insert it in place making sure it is oriented correctly. Reconnect the connector and reassemble the rear cover. For a Mercedes of this type it is essential to purchase high quality bulbs.
