How to Remove the Factory Radio

Model: Mercedes Classe E W211 - Years 2002-2009
Part: Car stereo

Place the gear shift in Drive if automatic, or in 4th gear if manual, gently lift the trim panel at the base of the shifter and set it aside. Release the ashtray by pulling from the lower corners; if necessary, use a screwdriver to leverage the tabs in the corners. To remove the motorized drawer, unscrew the two screws located in the corners and pull forward, being careful of the cables. If the vehicle has a CD changer inside the drawer, disconnect the fiber optic cable before removing the drawer to avoid damaging it. To release the radio, completely unscrew the screws located on the corners of the lower face. Note: The screws do not come out; they only need to be unscrewed until the radio is freed from its position.
